Saturday November 10th:
9:00 am - 10:00 am ~ Registration
10:00 am - 11:30 am ~ The Hidden Self, Frater Hollow
A review of modern thought on the subconscious
Can we truly know ourselves? It's said that our conscious thoughts are only a part of what we are really thinking. Deep within our brains is a subconscious that is continually at work learning, thinking and expressing itself. This part of the mind may not be open to introspection at all. If it is such a large part of our thoughts and is not readily accessible to reason and understanding, then how can we know ourselves? In this lecture, we'll review current thoughts about the subconscious from various angles. As the integration of conscious and unconscious is a key goal, we'll explore how magicians might approach this drawing from Crowley and other sources.
11:45 am - 1:15 pm ~ Magick as a Natural Philosophy, Frater Omega Baphomet
From ancient times up to the present, Magick has acted as a powerful
catalyst for the transformation of human life. This lecture will
approach the discipline and practice of Magick as an application of
Natural Philosophy. To start with, the foundations of Magick as an Art
and a Science are laid out on First Principles. Next, the machinery of
Magick is laid out and explained. Finally, the most fundamental
questions are addressed: What is Magick? What's it good for? How does
it work? Who is it for? Why do it?
Omega Baphomet has been a member of O.'.T.'.O.'. since 1994. He is a
Past Master of Scarlet Woman Lodge, a Chartered Initiator in
M.'.M.'.M.'., and an Ordained Priest in E.G.C. He practices yoga,
martial arts, and meditation.

3:00 pm -4:30 pm ~ The Answer Lies in the Stars, Who are Ourselves, Soror Miriam BatAsherah Green.
This talk will concentrate on the role of astrology in classical Kabbalah and modern Hermetic Qabala, helping us to better understand the ongoing influence of astrology in the magickal tradition, and the implications for Thelemites in our magickal and qabalistic praxis.
Miriam BatAsherah Green is a writer, voracious reader, student and teacher of religious and occult topics. A member of both the Reclaiming and Thelemic communities, when not teaching she can usually be found trying to hold her cup of coffee above the huge stack of books. Miriam is a proud member of both Scarlet Woman Lodge and Blazing Star Oasis, OTO, and currently makes her home in San Francisco. Extremely sporadic updates on her writings and classes can be found at: http://miriamgreen.wordpress.com/.
4:45 pm -6:00 pm ~ Crafting Enochian Ritual: Exploring Ritual Structures in the Magical Work of John Dee and Edward Kelley, Frater Christeos Pir.
This workshop will begin with an explanation of the Enochian magick of Dr. John Dee, court astrologer and 'homeland security' advisor to Queen Elizabeth I, and his assistant, alchemist and counterfeiter Sir Edward Kelley. The basic structure of the Enochian system will be explained, with a focus on the role of ritual in the "Angelic Conversations" or scrying sessions of Dee and Kelley in England and the Continent. After a brief overview of the role of Enochian in spiritual rituals from the late 1800's until now, we will perform a group Enochian ritual. Participants will be offered the opportunity to take active roles in the ritual and to perform their own Enochian scrying (divination by inner vision) in the safety of a group setting. No previous experience with Enochian is required. Handouts will be provided.
Christeos Pir has been studying and writing about the magical system of Dr. John Dee and Sir Edward Kelley for more than two decades, and is the author of An Essay on Enochian Pronunciation, The Watchtowers of the World, A Phonetic Guide to the Enochian Calls, Traversing the Aethyrs, Advanced Issues in Enochian Magick, A Question of Authorship: John Dee, Edward Kelley, and the Authorship of the 'Angelic Conversations' and other essays. He has led numerous workshops, seminars, and experimental study groups in Enochian Magick. Christeos has a B.A. in Religious Studies and an M.A. in Asian Cultures and Languages with a Portfolio in Religious Studies. His graduate research explored the role of religion and the supernatural in contemporary Japanese popular culture.

Join us for an evening of and with the Mysteries!

Sunday November 11th:
10:00 am - 11:00 am ~ A Woman's Great Work: Notable Women of the OTO, Soror Thanksgiving
This presentation will profile some of the more known Crowley-era female figures of the OTO, as well as some of the notable OTO women who came after them.
Soror Thanksgiving took her Minerval degree in April of 2000, has been an ordained Priestess of the EGC since 2005, and has been known to teach a class here or there for each of the local bodies of which she has been a member over the years. She lives in Austin with her Beloved and their furry brood, and is a holistic health coach and reiki master who enjoys nature, clean food, animals, lazy weekends, travel, and contemplation, among other things.
11:15 am - 1:15 pm ~ The Initiate's Journey: A Conversation on Practice, Brother Grant P.
Although we each find our own way to mystical and magical practice, and we each have a vision of what that practice might look like, most Thelemites would affirm that such practice is an important part of engaging in the Thelemic path. Brother Grant will lead a panel in which panel members, each an initiate of O.T.O., will be given the opportunity to discuss the role of magical and mystical practice in their own spirituality. Each panel member will provide a brief statement about their own approach to spiritual practice, to be followed by discussion and question and answer between panel members and between attendees and the panel members.
Brother Grant has been formally practicing magic for the last two decades, and has been an O.T.O. initiate for over half that time. After surviving Y2K with the rest of us and finding his way to the Order through a series of back alleys in Philadelphia, he decided to take the plunge and showed up for his Minerval on the evening of a very fortuitous April Fools Day. Since then, he has enjoyed the company of his fellow magicians through membership in O.T.O. bodies in Philadelphia, Portland, and (for the last five years) Austin. As a Professor of Religious Studies, he also spends a good amount of time helping college students think clearly and critically about religion, spirituality, history, and social justice.
